A fairly rare Glashütte Original Senator Perpetual calendar and many photos.

I have had this in my collection and always been fond of it although never wore it. Today I strapped it on. It’s one of only 50. Platinum and even the buckle is full platinum. It has nice weight to it. I love that the case is mostly all satin finished so

The design of the Lange date is clearly inspired by the Dresden Opera clock which implies advantages and drawbacks. I love it but I fully understand your position too. Just a matter of tastes nothing more

Regarding the GO date, I owned a Senator Perpetual Calendar and its date didn’t jump at midnight like the new Lange one and its date for instance. But, maybe the new GO models with date have an instantaneous jump at midnight (I would say no nevertheless).
